Duncan Ganley: Inventory of Empty Streets

Duncan Ganley’s Inventory of Empty Streets is a complete photographic record of every street inside London’s Congestion Charge Zone during the UK’s first Covid-19 lockdown in 2020. The resulting artwork is a unique archive containing 3143 images (with accompanying GPS track data) collected as a casebound, twelve-volume set of artist’s books. A special set (shown here), jacketed for handling, were produced for exhibition in November 2022 at the Michael and Noémi Neidorff Art Gallery, Trinity University, San Antonio, Texas. An exhibition catalogue (below), with essays by Ganley and Leo Costello, accompanied the show.
